Guess who passed his drivers test!

Mo passed his drivers test and now has a US drivers licence!

I really dont feel like Im getting any better at doing sketches by graphics tablet. I think I'll blame Gimp....and keep practicing, it is only day 4.

Stupid feel good comedies and their...feel goodie...ness..ss

I hope everyone has this. A stupid goal that leads to enlightenment.

I did not know that my enlightenment would come so quickly. Im almost scared that I dont know myself at all and by the end of the year I'll be a totally different person (if so, hopefully that different me has a multi million dollar book deal d^-^b)

I am not good at painting on computers. I have very little practice. This is because when I start to paint anything on the computer I stop and compare myself to other artists. Ultimately I convince myself that I need more practice and my work is an embarrassment so I stop whatever I am doing and leave it to a file that will forever be known as "projects" on an external hard drive that lives in my closet.

I only appreciate my own work when its in front of me.

When I paint I cant "undo" anything. I can only correct. My strokes are mine. The chosen colors cant be taken back without a LOT of work. That is me in a painting and as stupid as it may sound, I can actually put emotions to certain paintings I have done. I can put triumph to a painting in my kitchen ... and total embarrassment to hurried brush strokes in my parents living room.
I cant do that with a computer. I can look at what I drew and decide to get rid of the whole thing without a ceremony. Delete, gone. Undo: a simple stroke that could have lead to something fantastic gone, in seconds without a thought.

When I draw on paper I see me. When I draw on a computer I want to be someone else.

So by the end of the year, will I only draw on paper or will I learn to love both mediums and accept myself for who I am no matter what?

Will I get a book deal and/or a romantic comedy script?

Only Oprah or her lackeys (I pay cash for good reviews) can tell.

Mo in style!

Picture #1 for my New Years Resolution. One sketch a day for the next year.

I call this "Mo In Style" ... the style being "How do I use this stupid program!! Its not like Photoshop at all!!"
I downloaded a program called Gimp that my cousin refered me to. She claims it can do everything photoshop can. It LOOKS like it can...but it cant. Its like if MS paint and photoshop had a love child that gets confused easily...

So this sketch was the product of me killing two birds with one stone, testing a new program and doing a quick sketch.

That came WAY out of left field

I work at a store that sells body lotions and make up. I had a few odd customers today but this woman actually made me think "maybe I should back up just encase she knows Im thinking shes crazy and she snaps on me".

Customer: (other store) pointed me in your direction saying you might have what I need. I need a matte eyeshadow because Im allergic to shiny.

Me: Do you know what ingredient your allergic to in shiny eyeshadow? It may not be in our products.

Customer: Shiny! You know, shiny! Im very sensitive!

Me: Ok, well our matte eyeshadows are here.

*I proceed to pull aside the testers for the few matte products we have.*

Customer: Can I try this one?

Me: Sure!

*I go to get a disposable brush, when I turn around the customer has her eyes closed and is holding the tester millimeters from her eye. She opens her eyes to see me staring at her holding out a brush.*

Customer: Im not allergic. I can tell using muscle testing. Im very sensitive! This is a good one! What other colors do you have?

Me: Ummm...

*She spent the next 20 minutes holding various products "testing them" and announcing everything she was allergic to.*

When I got home I googled muscle testing to see if the woman thought she was blessed with special powers or if she followed some New Age health crap...
I found this site: Natural Health Techniques
A wonderful site where you can buy Cough 2oz, Lung Emotional Remedy, and the product information is for "educational purposes only" and they promote Coffee Enemas.
